New Moon : The apparent geocentric longitude of the Moon is equal to the apparent geocentric longitude of the Sun. First Quarter : The excess of the apparent geocentric longitude of the Moon over the apparent geocentric longitude of the Sun is equal to 90 degrees. Full Moon : The excess of the apparent geocentric longitude of the Moon over the apparent geocentric longitude of the Sun is equal to 180 degrees. Last Quarter : The excess of the apparent geocentric longitude of the Moon over the apparent geocentric longitude of the Sun is equal to 270 degrees. SOURCE : The phases of the Moon are computed with the lunar solution ELP 2000-85 : Chapront-Touze M., Chapront J. Astron. Astrophys. 190, 342 (1988).
